Support to me means the things and people that provide daily self helps throughout my day. These self helps structures the foundation of my day and ensures the success I will have in my day to day duties and activities.
The main factors within my daily environment that are supportive to me are my “to do list”, my spiritual thoughts and my family. My to do list helps to keep me on track and ensures that I complete tasks throughout the day which gives me a sense of accomplishment when I am able to mark things as completed. My spiritual thoughts because I strongly believe that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phil. 4:13. I get through most of my days simply by praying and speaking aloud the promises of God. Lastly, my family is my biggest support mechanism because they give me a daily reminder of why I’m here. We encourage each other through out the day and remind each other of our best qualities if and when we seem to forget.
If I had to imagine a challenge that I don’t currently have it would be to have to take care of a ill parent. I can imagine that the three support systems I mentioned above would be the way that I would get through this. Staying on track with my “to do list” to help balance my parents’ needs as well as my work, family and business needs. My faith would help me stay strong and understand why my parent was suffering and lastly my family to help me physically and emotionally through a tough time.
Deon,
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to imagine having an ill parent to take care of as well as maintaining the everything else you do in a day. Having a "to do list" is a great idea and I find myself doing that when I have a lot of things to accomplish. If you didn't have the "to do list" how would you get through your day?
Deon,
ReplyDeleteI can relate and appreciate your references and beliefs through Christ. I believe in the lord, although, I am not an very active church member. I think having a "to do list" serves as a more personal support system, because we have to believe in ourselves first.
Dear Deon
ReplyDeleteMy faith gives me the support to do all the other things in my life. Its is my structural foundation I need to embark on any journey, however a challenge would be taking care of an ailing parents. That is something that I haven't had to currently experience either but my support of my faith can help me through that tough transition of life.
