The three insights I’ve gained about issues related to international early childhood education that relate to my professional goals are:
They also strive to promote Access and Equity
Many countries committed themselves to “expanding and improving comprehensive early childhood care and education, especially for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.”
The are striving to promote Quality
They believe that early childhood care and education programs should emphasize the child’s holistic development and extend beyond assisting the child’s transition to formal schooling.
They also struggle with Investment and Financing
The greatest difficulty faced by countries in their efforts to expand and improve the quality of early childhood care and education is the mobilization of resources.

Deon,
ReplyDeleteMany countries do not have the necessary resources to help the children have an education; sadly most government pretend to help the children and are just trying to find a way to benefit themselves. Last week I talked about the struggles of many parents in African and the public school system, how the public schools are more expensive than private schools. That is a shame that many governments do not care for their children.
Deon,
ReplyDeleteHonestly in the end it sounds like all countries are experiencing the same issues as the United States in terms of early childhood and equity and excellence. As adults no matter where we live we all want the best for our children and want them to persevere and overcome and to do be than we did for ourselves. For me as a professional it's good to know that we are not alone. Thanks for sharing-Jolene Hernandez-Romero
Hi Deon, thanks for sharing! It does seem that everyone involved in early childhood education are experiencing the same difficulties, I pray that we all can get it together one day!
ReplyDeleteDeon,
ReplyDeleteI agree that you notice with some other countries one of their biggest struggles is investment and financing of their programs. However, here in America we have the funds but we dont invest in Education to the fullest. Imagine if we invested into Education a tenth of all sport events profits, how much of a difference it would make? Taxes aren't enough anymore we have to invest higher to yield higher returns. How do you feel about this?
