Personal Childhood Web

My Mom Sherlynn
Although my mother passed away when I was only eleven years old, she was a huge influence on my life.  She always told me that I would make her proud and that I should always follow my heart.  Prior to my mom becoming sick, we spent lots of time together.  She basically taught me how to be a good my to my children at the early stage in my life.  I would always help to take care of my younger siblings and cousins.  When I was a young child, she was very involved in my school life and made me feel loved everyday.
My Grandmother Edith
My grandmother was a big influence  on my life because after my mom died she took over the motherly role.  She taught me how to cook, clean, and how to take care of myself as a young lady.  She always spoke highly of my siblings and I and made us feel good about how my mother raised us.
My Family Friend Gail
Gail was a very important in my life as well.  She was always there when I needed someone to talk to.  She would drive me to bible class, sports events and girl scout meetings weekly.  Gail would always tell me how pretty and special I was even though I didn’t always feel that way.  She prepared me for my first dance and my first date as a teenager.
My Aunt Dorothy
My aunt Dorothy influenced my life as a young child by teaching me to always do whats right.  She took me to bible class and church every Wednesday and Sunday after my mom died.  She would always tell me not to ever lister to people who would say I couldn’t or wouldn’t do and have anything in life, and to always follow my dreams.  She encouraged me to do well in school and to always strive to be the best person I could be.
My Cousin Michelle
My cousin Michelle had a huge influence on my life because I looked up to her.  She was about 10 years older that I was and she always made time to help me with homework and school projects.  She would attend all of my sporting events and encourage me to always do my best.

  1. Hello Deon,
Sorry to hear that you lost your mother at such a young age. Nonetheless, you have had a really strong support system which has influence the woman you are now. It is amazing that you have individuals who stepped in to feel the void of your mother. You have been surrounded by supportive women just as I am. Keep striving for the best.

  2. Hello Deon, I'm also sorry to hear that you lost your mother at such a young age. It's great to hear of all the people who have been there to support, comfort, love, guide, nurture and give you great advice on life! all of the support that your grandmother has given you, by raising you to become the person that you are today is wonderful to hear, because so many children do not have a great support system, after losing a parent.Good luck to you I wish you well!
